Have you ever worked with people you don’t like, for a business you don’t agree with, and hated what you were doing? If yes, how productive were you in that kind of environment? It’s not likely that you were providing your best talent to the company. For both the business and the employee, it’s important that they like each other. Creating a friendly work environment is essential to the success of any company.

Every one of us that is working at a career needs to be in a career that makes us happy. Every employee should contribute positively to their work environment the same as the CEO of that company should as well. It’s proven that we perform our best when we are happy, content, and motivated to come to work. If we know this is true, then why would anyone ever work somewhere they don’t enjoy?

A career is where we spend a lot of our time at. If we are working 40 or more hours a week out of the 112 awake hours, that is a huge portion of where our time is spent. We should choose to be in an environment that is positive, motivating, and friendly. No one in their right mind should want to work at a place they hate.

There are things you can do as a CEO or employee to provide a friendly work environment. One is having respect – show respect to those around you, and never think or act like you are the smartest person in the room. People want approval and acceptance, by showing respect, it can change the atmosphere.

Another example is serving. When you serve a coworker no matter how big or small an act, it will change both of your attitudes for the better, towards each other. Service is a huge part in creating a friendly work environment. Going out of your way to help someone at work says a lot about your character. Others will want to be like you, and when the whole team is working together happily, that’s what makes the friendly work environment. By having that, your company will have every opportunity of succeeding.
